The sunny beer garden with chickens! Yes we have our very own chickens running around which for the majority of the year will allow us to be self sufficient in eggs. We have five Columbian Black Tails, five Warrens and five ex-battery hens. The ex-battery hens have been through a full molt and are starting to look quite good.
Don’t worry though, the chickens themselves are not destined for the restaurant table. We have an abundance of game around us though which is! Autumn brings us many wild pheasant and the rest of the year we take deer from the locality. It is important for the general health of the bevy, parcel, leash or herd, depending on your favourite collective noun for deer, that older or less desirable looking animals are taken out so the standard of the group will improve over time.

We a proud to have much local game on our menu for sale in our restaurant for both lunch and dinner, it is always worth calling in advance to ask what we have.
